Minutes for a virtual meeting of the Council Community Facilities Committee on Tuesday 8th December 2020 at 7.30pm via ZOOM online meeting facility

3. Confirmation of the order of the Agenda – New item 15 Landscaping SDC (Lengthsman not this committee)

7. Minutes of the meeting on 20th October 2020 – agreed Prop Cllr RB, 2nd Cllr TD carried

9. Sports Association
9.1 Report Simon Isted – noted. The Bowls Club remained closed due to Covid restrictions, Wellesbourne Wanderers football teams continued with training and games with both adult and children’s teams who continued to search for land as a permanent base. The renovation of the Cricket Club continued on schedule.

10. Committee Budget
10.1 2020/21 update – Cllr AP – noted
10.2 2021/2022 Budget consideration – Cllrs considered and agreed a revised budget of £39750.00 to go to Finance Committee

11. Dog Close
11.1 Update on lease for Dog Close land – a conversation between W.E. Trustees and their Solicitor had taken place resulting in a topographical survey of the balancing pond to be commissioned. The ancient right of way and easements were to be annotated on the lease document and it was hoped the PC would have the lease shortly.

12. Village Hall – Cllr AP
12.1 Youth Hut update – an advert inviting tenders to dismantle the existing hut then resurface and demarcation of the parking bays in the Village Hall car park would be placed in the Herald in January for two weeks.

13. Newbold Road land
13.1 Planning application – no update available

14. Play areas
14.1 Additional equipment – Cllrs considered the quotes and agreed the preferred equipment.
14.2 Recommendation to agree the preferred quote(s) A & B for play equipment for Mountford play area

15. Landscaping/public open spaces (POS)– letter to SDC
A letter sent to SDC on behalf of the PC outlined the difficulties with the landscaping on new developments not being completed or replaced when planting had died. Mr Weeks (SDC Head of Planning) had responded to say that SDC were following up the landscaping issues on Ettington Park/The Grange developments and due to ongoing problems with management companies across the district SDC had amended their policy to keep control at the District Council or Parish Councils in the future.
The Clerk continued to follow up the Grange POS and commuted funds required to maintain this land.

16. Christmas lights
16.1 Lights performance – Thanks were expressed to all involved in this year’s virtual switch on event which had been an online success. The children’s competition had once again shown young talent, this year’s winning display of a Christmas tree and Presents could be viewed in the precinct. It was noted that the timer switches on three lamp post displays had failed to turn the lights off, the lighting company were to check if new timers were required.

Clerk – The Handyman had been instructed to remove the basketball net in the Mountford sports field as it was ripped.
Mr Isted – Photo’s of the Cricket Club extension works to be brought to the next meeting. Post going to WSCC for the Cricket Club continued and Mr Isted would ask where it should be delivered.
