Strong objection was made on the grounds that it is not in line with the statutory policies of the councils, specifically AS9 of the core strategy Section C Economic item 2, “Retain and support the enhancement of the established flying functions and aviation related facilities at Wellesbourne Airfield” and Policy WW14 of the Neighbourhood Plan Support for Commercial Businesses, “Existing commercial business premises and employment sites should be safeguarded within Wellesbourne and Walton, including the airfield and local manufacturing and distribution park. The retention of flying activities at the Wellesbourne Airfield is supported. The role of the airfield must take account of, and safeguard, the needs of associated businesses, leisure and training activities and enable them to grow”. The application is made by the applicant to comply with Article 4 but this also does not accord with the Core Strategy and Neighbourhood Plan as outlined above.

11. Cllr and Clerk exchange of information
Cllr Mrs Prior said she would be raising a question about the Airfield and MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) to the leader of SDC and informed Cllrs that she would be attending a meeting of Aviators on Wednesday evening where she would be sitting on the panel in support of the flying functionality of the airfield.

8. Consideration of request for change of days by RFO
Following consideration, Cllrs agreed that it was not in the best interest of the Council to change the working day as this had been changed several times previously without success.

There being no further business to discuss, the meeting closed at 7.40pm
