6. Confirmation of the minutes of the meeting of 12th December 2016 – accepted
7. Matters arising – it was noted the Christmas Lights contract had not yet been published on the website
8. Open session for members of the public to raise any matters of relevance – none

9.1 Update – It was noted the budget for subscriptions and for the website had been increased on the Finance Officer’s recommendation

11. Staffing matters
11.1 Overtime and leave report – The Clerk provided details of all planned leave and outstanding leave allowance. It was noted there had been no overtime.
11.2 Carrying forward of leave allowance into next year – It was agreed that there should be a policy stating that outstanding leave allowance would not be carried forward unless due to exceptional circumstances. ACTION: February agenda item

11.6 Consideration of timing and placing of advertisement for the post – Cllrs agreed to advertise the post in the Herald/Midweek, the Council Facebook and website and the village notice boards. It was agreed to run the advert for two weeks (12th & 19th January) with a closure date of 31st January 2017.

Under section 100A of the Local Government Act 1972, in view of the confidential nature of the business about to be transacted, it is advisable in the public interest, as if members of the public were present during the consideration of such business, there would be disclosure to them of exempt information under paras 1 and 11 and Part 1 Schedule 12A of the said Act, that the public will be excluded
The salaries 2017/18 and the job description/person specification for the new Administration Assistant were discussed
9.2. Budget 2017/18 – staff salaries were considered and agreed.
11.3 Administration Assistant – leave likely to be outstanding at termination of contract would be paid to the employee on cessation of the contract of employment.
11.4 Consideration was given to the office workload in relation to appointment of new Administration Assistant
11.5 Consideration of job description/person specification/hours related to the Administration Assistant post – Cllrs discussed and agreed the documents to go out with the job application packs.
