The committee met on Tuesday 15th November.
The report from the fire safety officer was discussed. All the issues he raised have been addressed.
The manager was announced. He is called Dene Holloway and currently manges the facilities at Warwickshire College. He begins work on the 5th. December.
All the “buy a brick” money has been transferred into the Company’s account except for a small amount to keep the savings account open.
The committee was updated on the progress of the survey of residents requested by the DGLA. All responses are to be returned by noon on 19th. December. This will then inform the Finance Committee on that date.
The working group updated the committee on the progress in the building. Furniture has been ordered and now delivered. The gym equipment has also been ordered. Cllr Michael outlined the marketing plan. There is to be a preview day on the 10th. December, 10-3pm. There will be an official opening in January, the date is yet to be decided.
An external sign has been ordered and Cllr Kendall is pursuing the planning permission for it as it is lit. It will be installed unlit when received.
The committee discussed its own role. It was agreed to recommend to Council that when the lease is signed that the committee should cease to exist. The council trustees would then report to council as those on Chedham’s Yard do now.
