WELLESBOURNE and WALTON PARISH COUNCIL
The minutes of the Council meeting on Tuesday 5th September 2017 at 7.30 pm at the Methodist Hall
Bridge Street, Wellesbourne

1. Welcome and announcements – New Cllr Stuart Jackson was welcomed to the Council. Apologies were received from District Cllr Mrs Parry. Bus service changes from X18 to X17 were highlighted.

4. Confirmation of the order of the agenda – Remove item 14.2 as not yet complete – agreed

5. Identification of any items that might be resolved for confidential session – none

6. Confirmation of the minutes of the Council Meetings
27th June 2017 – Alison spelt incorrectly on planning application – agreed with amendment
1st August 2017 – Sec 8 3rd line should read “visual” not vision, 9.1 should read “low” not lost, 11.7 should read 11.6 not 24.6,
15 should read “regretted that an” – accepted with amendment
8th August 2017 – accepted

7. Matters arising (not included in the agenda) – none

8. Open Session for members of the public to raise any matters of relevance to the Parish
Mrs Hurdman, Valletta Way, raised concern about the graffiti and asked if the Council intended another clean up campaign.
Mrs Cook, Church Street, asked if a pedestrian crossing might be reconsidered if Kings Head were asked to pay for it in light of their plans to move the main entrance to the rear of the pub. Cllrs explained they had not supported the crossing as it incurred the loss of the majority of parking spaces from the layby.
Mr Davis, Oxford Way, enquired on progress of the leases from Walton Estate and the selling of weapons on the market site.
The Chairman responded the leases were in the hands of the solicitors and the police and Platt Markets advised no laws were being broken and therefore no further action could be legally taken.
Mr Rose, Grange Gardens, raised the availability of Flu vaccinations at Hastings House.
Miss McDonaugh, Mountford Close, complained about the school traffic in Mountford Close.

Cllr Kendall – Discussions with Mr Saint at SDC was still outstanding and noted that WWPC had responded to the Children’s Centre consultation.

13.1 Chairman’s update – The Committee set the area of discussion and co-opted Mr Isted, a member of Wellesbourne Sports & Association. The poor quality of grass cutting by SDC was raised. The Street Fayre committee were to discuss what play equipment could be purchased by the money raised.
Developers to be asked if they would be prepared to install notice boards on their new estates
